Mr. Kumud Chandra Sonowal is a seasoned financial professional with over 33 years of progressive experience in the banking and finance sector, bringing with him a wealth of practical knowledge and institutional insight into the financial services landscape of India, particularly in the North-East region. A graduate in Commerce (B. Com), he commenced his distinguished career with Apex Bank in September 1990 as a Clerk-cum-Cashier, and through dedication, skill, and leadership, rose to the position of In-Charge Manager, a role he held until his superannuation on 31st March 2024
BRIEF ABOUT EXPERIENCEDuring his long tenure, Mr. Sonowal was actively involved in various aspects of retail and cooperative banking operations, including credit management, cash flow optimization, financial planning, risk compliance, rural outreach, and customer engagement. His managerial acumen was further enhanced through structured training at the Management Development and Management Institute (MDMI), Guwahati, a premier training institute focused on financial leadership and operational excellence.
Mr. Sonowal also served as a representative of Apex Bank in multiple State Level Bankers¾ Committee (SLBC) meetings, where he contributed to Regional financial strategy inter-bank coordination
Implementation of state and central government financial inclusion programs.
